Podcast Guest
Pre-Interview Guide

You are on this page because we have either scheduled an interview or have discussed about having you featured as a guest on The Making of a Thought Leader podcast show. On this page you will find the resources to prepare you before we meet for the interview.

So how do you use this page? Read through each section, it is simply to get your all set up for the interview. Then fill in the details in the form, at the bottom of this page. Submitting the form confirms that you agree to our disclosure policy. That's it!

Calender

We’ve most likely already booked a time and day but if we haven’t, click on the button below to select a suitable time and day. Once booked, you’ll also receive automatic reminders a day before together with this page link, incase you’d like to go over the details again.

Audio

A fantastic audio recording is a win for everyone. Before we begin recording, please check that you have good set of headphones.  We highly recommend not to do interview directly into the computer speaker audio.

During our interview, please select the quietest location that has little to no background noise (such as a noisey clock, fan rotating, etc.) and is free from distractions (such as mobile phones).

Video

All podcast interviews (unless requested otherwise) are recorded via video as well. Please be at a spot with decent lighting.

Connection

A great conversation is what we are after. Nothing can be more disruptive than poor connectivity and lagging while recording an interview. Please connect to a strong network. Wifi connections do work but if your connection is usually weak, we recommend using cable to connect to the network.

Recording

We will record our conversation on Zoom. When you schedule the meeting (link above), you’ll use that link to sign on and it’ll prompt you to open/download zoom.

If you’re not familiar with zoom, please make sure to double check the video and audio settings to make sure it’s using the right mic and camera. (see below).

Additional information
  • When will we start recording?

We will not start recording as soon as the call starts. We’ll have a quick catch up conversation and run through some of the questions and then get started with the recording.

  • How long will the interview be?

Generally, 30-35 minutes is good but if a conversation needs to go longer, that’s fine with me! I think some of the best conversations need some time to get into it. And we always have editing to rely on later.

  • Will our conversation be live?

Nope, it won’t be recorded live. Unless we’re doing a special live episode or webinar. This means we can cut out or edit anything you’d like. Audiences like to listen to real, transparent conversations but if you say something that should be edited, just me know during or after we record!

  • Is it ok to swear?

We like to keep it clean but if there are a few adult(ish) words here or there, it’s not a big deal.

  • When will my episode be published?

Most episodes are published a couple of weeks after we record.  I will keep you in the loop of the publishing and social media schedule.
